Terms of Service

Effective June 10, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They govern your access to and use of Retract, limit our liability, and explain your responsibilities, our subscription billing, and our right to change the product and pricing.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you ("you", "your", the "Customer") and Retract ("Retract", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of the service available at retract.cc and any related applications, bots, APIs, and websites (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, ticking a box that references these Terms, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy practices. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" refers to that entity.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You must also comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and any other third-party terms that apply to your use. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction.

3. What the Service does

Retract provides tooling for Discord communities, including member verification, restricted-access flows, logging and analytics, optional security checks (such as VPN and alternate-account heuristics), and member restore/"pull" functionality. The Service connects to Discord and other third parties on your instruction and using credentials and permissions you provide.

The Service is provided as software tooling only. You, as the server operator, decide how to configure and use it within your own communities. We do not control, moderate, or endorse the communities, content, or conduct that you or your members create or engage in.

4. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

You are solely responsible for your account, your configuration, your bot and its tokens, your communities, and all activity that occurs through your use of the Service. You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, infringing, or abusive purpose;
  • Use the Service to harvest, sell, scrape, or misuse personal data, or to contact, spam, or harass any person without a lawful basis;
  • Add members to, or restore members into, any server without an appropriate lawful basis and consent where required;
  • Violate the Discord Terms of Service, Developer Terms, API terms, or rate limits, or any other third-party terms;
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security, verification, billing, or usage-limit features of the Service;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law;
  • Upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
  • Use the Service to operate communities involving illegal content, exploitation, or activity that violates applicable law.

You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any consents, disclosures, and legal bases required for your collection and use of your members' data through the Service. You will indemnify us for your failure to do so as described in Section 13.

5. We are not responsible for how the Service is used

The Service is a neutral tool. Retract does not author, control, or monitor the communities you run or the way you or any third party uses the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Retract is not responsible or liable for:

  • Any conduct, content, decisions, or actions of you, your members, your staff, or any third party;
  • How you configure verification, restores, pulls, security policies, or any other feature;
  • Any consequences arising from members being added, removed, restored, restricted, or blocked;
  • Any misuse of the Service by you or anyone using your account, bot, or credentials;
  • Disputes between you and your members, between you and Discord, or between you and any third party.

You acknowledge that you, and not Retract, bear all responsibility and liability for your use of the Service and for your communities.

6. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials, API keys, and bot tokens, and for all activity under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We store sensitive credentials encrypted at rest, but no system is perfectly secure, and you use the Service at your own risk. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are compromised, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.

7. Plans, billing, and subscriptions

Paid plans are sold as recurring subscriptions billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle, in United States Dollars (USD), through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices shown are exclusive of a 10% GST/tax amount, which is calculated and added at checkout and on each renewal. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method the applicable amount, including tax, automatically each billing cycle until you cancel.

  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: you may cancel at any time through your billing settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; your paid features remain active until then, after which the account reverts to the free plan.
  • No refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods, unused time, or downgrades.
  • Failed payments: if a payment fails, we may retry, suspend, downgrade, or terminate paid features until payment is resolved.
  • Taxes: you are responsible for any taxes, duties, or government charges associated with your purchase other than taxes on our net income.

Your payment card and billing details are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file.

8. Price changes

We may change our prices, plan structure, included limits, and features at any time. For active recurring subscriptions, price changes apply from the next renewal after the change takes effect. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material price increases in advance (for example, by email or in-app notice). If you do not agree to a price change, your sole remedy is to cancel before the change takes effect. Continued use or renewal after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

9. Changes to the Service

We are continually improving the Service and may add, modify, suspend, limit, or remove any feature, plan, integration, or functionality at any time, with or without notice. We may impose or change usage limits, rate limits, or fair-use restrictions. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service or any feature.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Discord (platform and API), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, network, and Turnstile), and email providers. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies, and their availability and behaviour are outside our control. We are not responsible for outages, changes, rate limits, suspensions, account actions, data loss, or other issues caused by any third party, including Discord suspending or banning your bot or server.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding your data and your content), is owned by Retract and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of your own data and content. You grant us a limited licence to process your data and content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, that detection or security features (including VPN or alternate-account checks) will be accurate or complete, or that any data, backup, or restore will be preserved or successful. You use the Service at your own risk.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Retract, its operators, owners, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, members, communities, or business, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid to us for the Service in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Retract and its operators, owners, and contributors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your communities, content, or conduct, or that of your members; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law; or (d) your violation of any third-party right, including Discord's terms or any person's privacy or data-protection rights.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, pose a risk to the Service or others, or fail to pay. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately and we may delete your data in accordance with our retention practices. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "effective" date below and may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of the operator's principal residence or place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there for any dispute not subject to other agreed dispute-resolution. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer in your jurisdiction.

18. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with any policies referenced here, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
